Welcome to Splash Laundry KC! We put your satisfaction at the top of our laundry list. We care for your clothes as if they were our own, but we need to iron out a few details to keep things clear and wrinkle-free. By using our service, you agree to our Terms and Conditions. Let's make sure we're all on the same cycle and avoid any misunderstandings about what we, Splash Laundry (referred to as "we," "us," "our"), and you need to do.
**Right to Refuse**
We have the right to refuse to service any customer or launder particular items for any person, at any time.
**Weight and Minimum Orders**
We weigh every item you submit for cleaning, and our weights are final. We require a minimum weight of 15 lbs per order. If your order is under 15 lbs, you will be charged the minimum of 15 lbs. Of course, we don't anticipate having any problems with our customers refusing to pay, but just in case, we reserve the right to hold your laundry hostage until we are paid in full.
**Scheduling and Payment**
Payment is required at drop-off. Splash requires customers to pick up their orders as soon as possible, but within 7 days. Splash has the right to charge a storage fee of $10 per week for every week past the initial 7-day grace period, up to 30 days post drop-off. Laundry will be discarded or donated to a local charity of Splash Laundry’s choosing if not picked up within 30 days of drop-off. Any pricing we quote you is subject to adjustment for things like small orders, one-way trips, specialty items, etc. As with all pricing, pick-up and delivery charges are subject to change without notice.
You can submit an order by coming into the laundromat any day from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm to speak to our attendant, or by placing an order on our website, www.splashlaundrykc.com. We offer on-demand pickup and delivery services via gig-economy partners such as Uber and DoorDash. Pickup and delivery hours are from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, 7 days a week. Additional charges for delivery fees may apply, depending on the customer’s address. At the time of placing your order on our website, you will be given the delivery price. This does not include any tips you may choose to pay towards the delivery service. You have the right to cancel pickup or delivery at any point. If you cancel delivery after the service has been dispatched to your location, you may incur one-way delivery charges.
**Special Requests**
You are responsible for informing our staff of any preferences at the time of ordering, so that we may accommodate your requests. Through our years of experience and extensive knowledge, we use processes that we believe are best suited to the nature and condition of each individual article.
We do our best to accommodate special requests when appropriate. When requesting special handling, please provide as much context as possible, and separate or label items of clothing you are referencing. If we are unable to accommodate special requests, Splash Laundry will call you to discuss the next steps. If we are unable to contact you, the item(s) will be returned non-laundered.
**Stains**
We make every effort to return items to customers clean and free of stains. However, we do not guarantee the removal of stains. If there are particular stains you are aware of when submitting your order that you would like us to pay extra attention to, please include that information at the time of ordering.
**Damaged Laundry**
We do not check pockets or separate loads based on color or material unless instructed to do so at the time of order. We are not responsible for any damage that may result from forgotten items in pockets, like chapstick or pens, being washed with your belongings. While we make every effort to return any belongings that may be found in your wash, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to find or return any items left in your laundry (e.g., money, jewelry, or anything else). Please avoid leaving such items in your laundry.
We make every effort to handle your laundry with care. However, damages may inevitably occur. We cannot assume responsibility for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials that are not readily apparent prior to processing. This applies particularly, but not exclusively, to suedes, leathers, silks, satins, double-faced fabrics, vinyls, polyurethanes, lace, etc. Responsibility is also disclaimed for trimmings, buckles, beads, buttons, bells, and sequins.
**Extra-Dirty Items**
While we understand that life can be messy, we request all customers refrain from including items with feces, bodily fluids, or any other conditions which may be hazardous to Splash Laundry staff. If such items are included, it is at the sole discretion of the Splash employee to agree to launder them, charge extra, or refuse service. If the Splash employee at the time of intake decides to launder an extra-dirty item, extra charges may be incurred by the customer.
**Lost Laundry**
We cannot inventory every piece of clothing given to us at the time of order. We are not responsible for lost clothing, as we have no way of verifying if certain pieces were received or laundered. We track all orders meticulously from intake, to processing, and finally to packaging and storing. If you believe an item was lost at our laundromat, please contact us as soon as possible. We are much more likely to remedy the situation if it is brought to our attention within 24 hours.
**Delivery Service**
Because our delivery service is provided by a third party, we do our best to pick up your laundry at the agreed-upon time. That being said, we can't be held accountable if we are late due to unforeseen circumstances. If you are having an issue with your order, we urge you to call the laundromat directly so that we can assist you. If you request that we leave your laundry unattended (e.g., on your porch, in a hallway, or in your foyer) or with a third party (e.g., with a doorman or a neighbor), we are not responsible for your laundry before we have picked it up or after we have dropped it off. You also agree that our records of pick-up and drop-off times are true and accurate.
**Allergies**
Customers with allergies must inform us of any specific detergent or fabric softener preferences at the time of drop-off. We will do our best to accommodate these requests, but we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination with other detergents and softeners will not occur.
**Dry Cleaning**
Splash Laundry KC does not provide dry cleaning at this time. You agree that every item you bring to us is suitable for laundering in a standard washing and drying machine and is not “dry clean only.” Splash cannot verify the care instructions for each item of clothing we receive, though we do our best to handle each item with care. If we do find an item that is labeled as “dry clean only,” we will return the item to the customer non-laundered.
**Claims and Liability**
If something bad happens, we will try to work with you because we care. To increase the likelihood of satisfaction if you do have a problem, all claims must be made (a) within 24 hours after picking up or receiving back your laundry, or (b) if you did not pick up or receive back your laundry, within 7 days after the due date of the applicable order. Ultimately, however, if something (whether one or more individual items or even your entire order) is lost or damaged in any way (regardless of type or value), we do not accept legal liability.
**Reimbursements**
It is at the sole discretion of the owners of Splash Laundry KC to offer reimbursements for damaged items or other unfortunate circumstances. In the case of a reimbursement, our reimbursement cost will not exceed $75 per item or $300 per order.
**Permission to Communicate**
You recognize that we are entering into a business relationship. You hereby consent to us phoning, faxing, emailing, texting, and using social media (whether or not any such number, address, or media is solely yours or belongs in whole or part to a third party) to communicate with you about (a) pick-up and delivery, (b) marketing and/or other business-related communications (including automated calls or texts), and (c) any and all other purposes related to our business relationship or permitted by law. You agree and understand that with texting, standard message and data rates may apply.
**Miscellaneous**
Just like laundry, things can change over time, and we might need to tweak a few terms in this agreement. So, we encourage you to pop back now and then to stay in the loop with any updates. While we like to keep things smooth and easy, we understand that disagreements might pop up now and then. If that happens, you agree that any legal matters related to this agreement or Splash Laundry KC will be sorted out in the Courts of the State of Missouri. Let's keep things fresh and friendly!
